Welcome to BSA Troop 381's Website

We are excited about the opportunities that Boy Scouts has provided for our sons.  Scouting can provide a structured environment to teach young men the skills that will help them mature into adulthood.  Our goal is to uphold the principles of leadership, achievement, and service in a creative, fun, and active atmosphere.  While our adult leaders are there to guide and encourage them, our scouts are expected to plan activities, lead, support, and learn from one another.  Troop 381 is involved in service projects that benefit our community. We have been involved with such organizations as Goodwill/Goodturn, Hope Hospice, Texas Adopt a highway / trash pickup, Bike MS, Food Bank, Wounded Warriors, Relay for Life,  building tables and planter boxes for schools.   We are commited to providing our Troop with campouts every month.  In addition, we are working to raise funds so that the troop can travel out of state for their week long summer camp broadening their experience and appreciation of the outdoors.  If you are interested in learning more about our troop, send us an email by using the "Contact Us" option on the left side of this page.

Camp Alexander - Summer Camp 2021 (adults and Scouts 16 years old +)

Posted on Apr 24 2021 - 9:49am

Please note this is for Adult Leaders and any Scouts over 16 years of age who will be attending Summer Camp 2021!

Pre-Camp COVID Testing
MEMORANDUM FOR: All unit Leaders, Camp Staff and Commissioners
  1. On the recommendation from the Risk Management Committee, State of Colorado and County Health Departments, and the Medical Staff for Camp Alexander, we are requiring that all persons attending Camp Alexander for summer camp or work at the camp as part time or full time staff must have a NEGATIVE COVID-19 Test no more than 2 days prior to their arrival at Camp. For individuals over the age of 16, evidence of COVID-19 vaccination (1 or 2-shot series) completed at least 2 weeks prior to their arrival at Camp can be used in lieu of this testing requirement. In addition, the senior unit leader for each group of Scouts or, in the case of Staff, the Camp Director or designated Camp Commissioner, will be responsible for completing a small Symptoms questionnaire each day prior to the start of activities and giving that questionnaire to the Camp Medical Director or his designee at the Health Lodge. Persons identified with any positive response to the questionnaire will be isolated and further evaluated by the Health Lodge Medical Staff to determine appropriate disposition.
  2. Justification: The COVID-19 virus has an incubation period of from 2-14 day from time of initial exposure to development of symptoms. Many persons, especially Scout age youth may have no symptoms or have such mild symptoms as to escape notice, rendering them capable of transmitting the virus to a more susceptible individual which potentially could cause an outbreak leading to a serious disruption of Camp activities or even requiring shut down of the entire camp. The best way to detect asymptomatic individuals with this virus is to check all camp personnel prior to their arrival and screen for symptoms on a daily basis. The Camp is an isolated site where there is little to no risk of introducing this virus if everyone present at Camp has already been screened before arrival. This is our Best Way to ensure a healthy camp and a return to normal camp activities with the least disruption of our Program which we are fortunate to be able to offer this year. Please ensure compliance with this requirement and we look forward to a safe and healthy camp experience for all participants and staff.
